CBIZ Talent Solutions is assisting our client, a Central Nassau County leader in commercial landscape construction, in their search for a Junior Construction Estimator.

Position Summary

The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for site development projects. This role requires someone with a deep understanding of civil construction methods and the ability to manage complex estimates involving multiple disciplines and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to complete competitive project estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs
• Review drawings for coordination and constructability.
• Solicit, scope, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes, for general and specialized work.
• Develop cost breakdowns and bid proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and markups.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and architects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• 5+ years of estimating experience with site work, civil construction, and landscape
• Strong understanding of site drainage design, earthwork balancing and grading, rooftop landscaping details and structural and architectural coordination for rooftop construction
• Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, AutoCAD).

Compensation is estimated between $115,000-$130,000K based on experience.
