Journeyman Plumber - New Construction and Retrofits
Our clint is a non-union mechanical contractor that is highly respected across the Ontario market. This team is looking to add a licensed Journeyman Plumber that is capable of being the designated lead on a small new construction project. This position coordinates with Apprentices, other Journeypersons, and Field Managers on a daily basis.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Licensing / Red Seal in their specific trade and a member in “Good Standing” within
their trade organization
- Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract in good standing
- Demonstrate the ability to lead a project and crew of 2 personnel.
- Completion of required supervisory training.
- ISO/Quality Training
Responsibilities:
- Support the needs of the project as identified by their supervisor.
- Ensures the requirements of company policies are being followed.
- In addition to the Safety Training provided by the company, will proactively continue to learn and understand the requirements of Health and Safety legislation other company health and safety policies.
- Duties will include, but are not limited to, plumbing, pipe fitting, cutting, coring, digging and trenching, measuring, layout, paperwork, and other similar tasks.
- Responsible for other field duties as requested by their superior and can include items such as housekeeping, caulking, filing, organizing, receiving, material delivery to the work areas, etc.
- Familiar with all aspects of special projects and will be proactive, and act to warn or rectify any unsafe conditions or project activities not progressing according to plan.
- Will develop Apprentices and/or Journeypersons in a manner consistent with the teams
policies, processes.
- Will coordinate site activities on assigned projects
- Will ensure all necessary administrative functions are completed.
- Punctual and flexible with respect to the client requirements.
- Work with and maintain positive working relationships with fellow employees, management, and any other trades and authorities.
- Conduct site investigation and support in creation of an estimate.
- Perform other duties as required
