IoT Business Development Representative

Our client, a pioneer in the satellite communications industry, is renowned for its innovative solutions that enhance connectivity and technological integration across global markets. As part of their ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation, they are seeking an experienced IoT Business Development Representative (BDR) to join their high-performance team.

This role is vital to our growth strategy—focusing on lead generation, qualification, and early-stage relationship development to support our Regional Sales Managers (RSMs).

Focus:

  • Proactively identify new business opportunities through outbound efforts including cold calling, email campaigns, and networking.
  • Assess prospects for fit based on business needs, budget, tech stack, and authority.
  • Ensure at least 50% of qualified leads are converted to sales-accepted opportunities.
  • Maintain and manage lead status through CRM, ensuring a seamless handoff to the RSM team.
  • Collaborate equally with all assigned RSMs to maintain balanced opportunity generation.
  • Contribute to the conversion of leads into revenue-generating opportunities with a minimum quarterly conversion rate of 6%.
  • Build rapport with prospective clients through personalized, value-based communication.
  • Act as the first point of contact and brand ambassador for the company’s IoT solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s IoT offerings, competitive landscape, and customer pain points.
  • Present solutions tailored to industry-specific use cases.
  • Accurately record activities, customer data, and lead progression in Salesforce or equivalent CRM.
  • Maintain pipeline hygiene and reporting discipline.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to align outreach strategy with market needs and campaign goals.
  • Provide RSMs with qualified opportunities and background information to support conversion.

Skill Set:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • 2+ years experience in a B2B/B2G sales or business development role
  • Proven success in cold calling, outbound lead generation, and pipeline development
  • Experience with CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to research, identify, and engage decision-makers
  • Results-driven, organized, and comfortable in a high-volume environment

Preferred:

  • Experience in IoT, telecom, or technology-related industries
  • Familiarity with sales performance metrics and reporting tools
  • Skilled in delivering engaging product presentations
