Job Description
We are looking for an Investment Banking Associate to work for our Columbus client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.
Responsibilities:
- Support senior bankers in executing mergers and acquisitions (M&A), initial public offerings (IPOs), debt and equity offerings, and other financial transactions.
- Conduct financial analysis, including financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence, to support transaction execution and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare pitch materials, presentations, and marketing materials for client meetings and new business opportunities.
- Conduct industry research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Prepare detailed industry reports and market updates to support client pitches, transaction strategies, and business development efforts.
- Stay abreast of market developments, regulatory changes, and industry news to provide timely insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Develop complex financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and merger models, to evaluate investment opportunities and assess valuation.
- Analyze financial statements, historical performance, and industry benchmarks to assess the financial health and growth prospects of target companies.
- Prepare comprehensive valuation reports, investment memoranda, and transaction-related documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including corporate executives, private equity firms, and other financial institutions.
- Assist in the development and execution of business development strategies to expand the client base and generate new opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or public accounting
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with expertise in Excel and financial modeling software.
- Knowledge of investment banking processes, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and financial due diligence.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements within the investment banking industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
