Job Description

We are looking for an Investment Banking Associate to work for our Columbus client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior bankers in executing mergers and acquisitions (M&A), initial public offerings (IPOs), debt and equity offerings, and other financial transactions.
  • Conduct financial analysis, including financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence, to support transaction execution and strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare pitch materials, presentations, and marketing materials for client meetings and new business opportunities.
  • Conduct industry research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Prepare detailed industry reports and market updates to support client pitches, transaction strategies, and business development efforts.
  • Stay abreast of market developments, regulatory changes, and industry news to provide timely insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop complex financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and merger models, to evaluate investment opportunities and assess valuation.
  • Analyze financial statements, historical performance, and industry benchmarks to assess the financial health and growth prospects of target companies.
  • Prepare comprehensive valuation reports, investment memoranda, and transaction-related documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including corporate executives, private equity firms, and other financial institutions.
  • Assist in the development and execution of business development strategies to expand the client base and generate new opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or public accounting
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with expertise in Excel and financial modeling software.
  • Knowledge of investment banking processes, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and financial due diligence.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements within the investment banking industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
