This Investment Advisor opportunity in Chicago, IL is with an established, independent wealth management firm that manages over $9B in client assets.
You would be working within a collaborative, client-first environment, advising high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals and families. The firm offers a path to partnership and potential equity participation.

This is a hybrid position, with client travel as needed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee customized investment portfolios for HNW and UHNW clients while providing top-quality service.
  • Develop and implement strategic asset allocation and investment strategies aligned with client goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with financial planners, portfolio managers, and research teams to deliver holistic wealth management solutions.
  • Communicate complex financial concepts effectively to clients, ensuring transparency and trust.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through referrals and professional networks.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, alternative investments, and portfolio construction methodologies.
  • Travel occasionally (1-2 times per month) to meet clients in person and provide a high-touch advisory experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of professional experience in portfolio management, investment advisory, or wealth management.
  • CFA strongly preferred; CFP, MBA, or equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Proven expertise in individual securities, equities, fixed income, and alternative investments — not just mutual funds or ETFs.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with high emotional intelligence (EQ) and the ability to engage with diverse client personalities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development and client engagement.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment while also working independently.
  • Commitment to fiduciary responsibility and acting in the best interest of clients.
  • Experience with financial planning tools and CRM systems such as Salesforce, eMoney, and Addepar is a plus.
