HVAC Inventory Data Analyst — Confidential Search
(HVAC/Industrial Distribution — Multi-Branch Location)

Position Overview
Our client, an established HVAC and industrial distribution company operating across 14 branch locations, is seeking an HVAC Inventory Data Analyst to ensure optimal inventory levels across multiple HVAC product categories. This role maintains accurate inventory records, coordinates stock movements, and supports purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure product availability and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.

Job Details

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (occasional after-hours/weekends as needed)
  • Travel: ~30%, quarterly visits across 14 branch locations
  • Reports To: Director of Regional Operations

Key Responsibilities

System & Data Management

  • Update item master data, including descriptions, bin locations, and units of measure
  • Generate inventory reports and KPIs for management review
  • Utilize ERP systems (e.g., Advantive DDI) to manage inventory workflows

Inventory Accuracy & Auditing

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system

Stock Management

  • Monitor stock levels and reorder points to ensure product availability
  • Collaborate with purchasing to forecast demand and adjust inventory strategies
  • Coordinate inter-branch transfers, vendor returns, and centralized distribution center returns to optimize inventory flow

Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies in inventory handling and propose solutions
  • Support implementation of best practices in inventory control and warehouse operations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with warehouse, purchasing, and branch management teams to align inventory with business needs
  • Assist in training warehouse staff on inventory procedures and systems

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of inventory control experience, preferably in HVAC or industrial distribution
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems (Advantive DDI or similar) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with HVAC products, seasonal inventory trends, and lean inventory/cycle counting methodologies
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Standing/walking on hard surfaces for portions of the workday
  • Regular reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, with lifting up to 70 lbs on occasion
  • Work performed in a medium-to-large store environment using phone, RF scanner, computer, and material handling equipment
