The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for leading distribution center efforts in the receiving, put-away, and storage areas. You will identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in those areas and organize and direct resources in order to support associted business objectives. The successful candidate will participate with the management and supervisory team in staff training efforts and facilitating developmental opportunities.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor the layout of warehouse to optimize efficiency of distribution and inventory placement and assist with slotting in the warehouse to maintain effective use of space. Including but not limited to, identifying consolidation opportunities within the reserve locations, ensure pick face locations are set up and stocked
  • Review reports to ensure the slots assigned are comparable for the product received, and update product and location information as necessary to include creating and setting up new locations in WMS and/or other warehouse applications as required as well as updating material master information
  • Prepare inventory related reports and verify inventory balances/records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to identify shortages and discrepancies
  • Run reports to verify item set up such as carton dimensions, bin location set up
  • Run picking trend reports to identify high pick volume and reasons behind
  • Develop and maintain slotting and replenishment tools. Define item profiling scheme.
  • Analyze order patterns to correlate items with similar take rates and slot them accordingly.
  • Define and implement a reslotting schedule to either move small sets of items or reslot the entire warehouse.
  • Collaborate with Operational Managers to optimize material flows and pick paths.
  • Implement and maintain slotting metrics.
  • Document profiling and slotting assumptions.
  • Develop standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze daily report of missed orders and units and provide descriptions and summary of failures to meet customer expectations
  • Report systemic problems to appropriate parties for timely resolution.
  • Communicate Regularly with manager and operations management issues pertaining to storage and/or handling efficiencies and offers options for improvements or solutions
  • Configure forward pick locations for materials to proper min/max level and set appropriate replenishment levels to ensure efficient flow of materials to and from location
  • Positively contributes to the company and distribution center culture by displaying an exemplary attitude and work ethic, and by promoting and participating in company events
  • Additional projects and tasks as assigned by management
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in management, logistics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience required
  • 1-3 years of experience in warehouse or distribution center experience required
  • Strong Excel experience with SAP experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word required
