Success factors:

? Perform the technical installation tasks required to implement Broadband Connectivity to individual Tenants in Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) buildings.

? Timely and technically-assured installation of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and Fiber To The Home (FTTH) Broadband equipment (modems, routers, etc.) in Tenants premises.

? Perform programming setup of Broadband equipment.

? Provide end-user familiarization of the installed Broadband equipment.

? Perform duties related to telecommunication circuits and wiring in regards to tip/ring polarity, continuity testing and cable pair identification.

? Perform installation tasks required to implement broadband connectivity to both

commercial and residential customers.

? Interact with property managers and customers in a courteous and professional manner.

? Work under the direction of an on-site Manager/Senior Field Engineer.

? Provision various equipment when required.

? Assist customers in the familiarization of installed equipment.

? Serve as liaison between customers and supporting departments to facilitate customer needs and ensure they are receiving exceptional service.

? Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must have an understanding of telecommunication circuits and wiring in regards to tip/ring polarity, continuity testing, and cable pair identification using testing equipment such as a toner and probe.

 

Knowledge and work experience to include:

? Telecommunications cabling installation Practices

? Telecom Cable installation in MDU structures

? The use of telecom tools and test equipment

? The installation and programming of Broadband equipment (DSL modem, line filters,

cross connections) is preferred.

? Working knowledge of PCs, Operating Systems (Windows, LINUX) is a benefit.

Ability to:

? Work independently with minimum direct supervision

? Follow company directed best practices and instructions

? Resolve technical problems in a timely manner or escalate as needed

? Communicate well with co-workers and customers directly in a courteous and

professional manor.

 

Education or Formal Training:

? High School Education at minimum

? Vocational training in low-voltage building wiring, or equivalent gained through workexperience (minimum 2 years related work experience).

 

Experience:

? Experience installing Broadband Communications equipment preferred.

? Prior work experience in low voltage system wiring related to Voice and/or Data wiring, Telecom provisioning field activity, Security Systems installation, or similar work related activities.

? Experience installing Fiber Optic cable a plus.

Material and Equipment Directly Used:

? Utilization of various hand and power tools necessary to perform low-voltage wiring and

DSL hardware installation activities.

? Unshielded Twisted Pair cabling (CAT3, CAT5e, CAT6), and Riser/Distribution

installation and termination.

? Utilization of computers and various test equipment to complete the software installation.
