JOB SUMMARY: Develops and implements actions to accomplish strategies to capture and expand international sales according to the hotel’s short- and long-range goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Exemplifies commitment to the hotels’ mission of Total Guest Satisfaction
  • Responsible for telephone and personal sales calls on international accounts, prospects for new clients and maintains current relationships, as well as data-base development
  • Follows up in a timely manner to support telephone and personal sales calls
  • Negotiates with clients to achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client needs
  • Evaluates, solicits, sells, and confirms business as required to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability
  • Maintains an effective plan of correspondence
  • Participates in sales meetings and related industry specific organizations to represent the hotel, as well as networks amongst the community
  • Develops and maintains a complete working knowledge of the local competition and National/Global competition
  • Always maintains a professional appearance and behavior when representing the hotel or company
  • Travels as required within the assigned market areas to establish and maintain business relationships
  • Conducts tours of the property as required, including Familiarization trips and educational sites
  • Evaluates marketing opportunities within distribution channels and outside resources to increase awareness and revenue
  • Evaluates corporate, entertainment as well as group contracts, and maintains production and repeat business
  • Maintains report of daily activities including pre/post reports for sales calls

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field; AND at least five (3) years of experience in international sales in a luxury hotel environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
