Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP International Operations for a progressive thinking supply chain management and improvement group headquartered in the US, our client creates efficiencies by turning supply chains into finely tuned, high-performance value chains. They are adept at creating measurable business value for their customers through assessment, design, implementation, and management of end-to-end integrated supply chain solutions.
The International Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations that impact our client’s team. Will be the go-to person for operational questions and issue resolution for internal and external customers and will be responsible for execution of international shipments in all modes. In partnership with the Vice President of International Operations the International Operations Manager will execute the strategies and processes to support superior customer experience, aggressive growth plans, development of associates, swift resolutions of issues, and resource allocation to drive results and meet changing priorities.

Background Required:
- International freight forwarding, transportation or supply chain experience (5+ years)
- Extensive knowledge of air, ocean, imports, exports & customs brokerage requirements
- Staff management & training (5+ employees)
- P&L including budgeting, forecasting & reporting
- Ability to manage and prioritize workflow across groups of people
- New account start-up and implementation
- Established standard operating procedures & metrics
- Monitors quality and adherence to standards
- Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
- Residence: Western Michigan area (hybrid work schedule)
- Experience with Cargowise
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Excellent leadership skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
