Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Terminal Manager of an Intermodal/Drayage trucking company regarded as one of the finest carriers in the Pacific Northwest.
The Intermodal Dispatch Manager is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and dispatching the company’s customers’ freight. The role owns the relationship with their valued Independent Contractors and is instrumental in the successful coordination of the timely and accurate delivery of goods. The key responsibilities of this function are to provide exceptional support to their drivers, be quick to respond to questions and troubleshooting concerns and to pro-actively monitor the movement of freight to ensure customer satisfaction. Additional responsibilities include: dispatching driver contractors from one route to another in WA State; communicating with driver contractors regarding required load paperwork and other documentation; Oversee self-auditing of accessorial to ensure that the customer is able to identify what they are being billed for; Oversee driver contractor pay and ensure accuracy; Interact with terminal team members to ensure documentation is properly accounted for, customer specifications are met on each load and that customers are notified if there are load rejections and/or other issues with deliveries; Coordination, scheduling, dispatching and planning of customer freight shipments; Act as the main point of contact for all driver facing communication via phone, text and E-mail; Develop a strong relationship with Independent Contractors within assigned fleet; Offer exceptional support to drivers to ensure that their professional needs are being met; Monitor shipments throughout transit in order to effectively meet delivery schedules; Respond to customers efficiently, thoroughly, and professionally; Manage customer and driver expectations to align with operational capabilities; Monitor performance and available hours of Fleet Drivers; Work cooperatively with customer service/sales to provide solutions for customers' needs and resolve issues.

Background Required:
  • Driver-Dispatch Management, Intermodal Transportation (3 years)
  • Personnel supervision (i.e. dispatchers, drivers, etc.)
  • Recent knowledge of Steamship Lines, Ports and Rail Terminals
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Suite, REZ1, Customer Interface site, etc.
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Residence: Kent, WA
Other Essential Abilities and Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact and build relationships with driver contractors
  • Work well under pressure and collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail while working with driver contract pay documents, load pricing, FSC, etc.
  • Results-oriented coupled with strong work ethic
