Our client, a software industry leader for over thirty years, has engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit an Intermediate Software Developer. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation complimented by leading edge open-source HRIS software.

 

 

Responsible for design, documentation, development, coding, unit testing and debugging of either new software products or enhancements to existing software, under the general direction of a direct supervisor. Job responsibilities include working independently or under the direction of a team leader in creating modules, subsystems, or applications primarily in C and C++, but occasionally also using other development tools. You will work as necessary with modules or subsystems for core document accounting applications, or customized applications and extensions developed for our customers or OEM partners. Integration with partner devices and external systems with a focus on performance and quality are important for this role.

Qualifications:

·         Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent 

·         4 or more years experience in C and C++ software development 

·         Experience in networked software development (communication protocols) on Windows or UNIX/Linux. 

·         Multi-threaded coding experience 

·         Ability to learn new technologies and integrate with new APIs quickly   

·         Excellent inter-personal skills to interact with team and technical contacts with partners 

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Work both independently or in a team and have strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

 

Assets:

·         Database programming experience with SQL Server or Oracle a plus 

·         Experience with web based technologies such as SOAP, XML, Web Services and HTML/Javascript a plus 

·         Familiar with multi-lingual support such as Unicode a plus
