Intermediate Developer

Are you an experienced Intermediate Developer looking to prove yourself in a thriving organization? Recruitment Partners is searching for an individual with a demonstrated customer focus to assist clients with software development projects.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Liaises with business units and program areas to ensure solutions meet current and strategic ministry needs and requirements.
• Write performing quality code to fulfill design, and pass code review with minimal number of defects.
• Apply configuration on development environments when required.
• Participate in implementing full product into production, and supports providing application versions and details for implementation plan.
• Highlight the technical impacts of the functional design on existing applications based on a detailed analysis.
• Deliver technical design and database structure for medium to high application complexity.
• Maintain technical documentation.
• Identify critical features of system, and focus testing effort on them. Ensure that the unit test covers the right proportion of the application.
• Setup data for testing.
• Grasp Able to quickly understand application functionalities and process.
• Handle and fix production defects efficiently.
• Provide tracking and reporting of time and status on all work as required.
• Contribute to the creation of the Application Lifecycle Planning
• Identify and coordinate release schedules
• Identify service requests and priorities with customer
• Ensure planned releases remain on schedule and on track

Your strengths include:

• University graduation in computer science or a related discipline and 3-yr Application Developer experience;
OR 2-yr diploma in computer science or a related discipline and 5-yr Application Development experience.

• Experience developing multi-user / n-tier / Object Oriented applications using C#.NET or ASP.net.
• Experience developing SQL objects for MS SQL Server.
• Experience in designing, building, testing, deploying and supporting applications (production and acceptance) in the large scale and mission critical environment.
• Experience with software development methodologies, processes, and associated best practices, standards, tools, and policies.
• Experience with formal unit testing practices and /or unit testing frameworks.
• Experience with application lifecycle management procedures working in an environment with a team of three (3) or more developers.
• Experience developing Model-View-Controller (MVC) web applications.
• Experience with Alberta Energy, Indigenous Relations and Alberta Environment Parks applications.
