Our client, a start-up style environment owned by a stable Publicly-traded company, located near Union Station has engaged ROSS to help them recruit a Senior Software Developer or Software Architect. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide contingency recruitment in addition to remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation.

The Software Development Team is responsible for the planning, development, architecture documentation, testing and deployment of new and existing software applications. These applications range from websites to internal dashboards to automation applications that aim to serve either public consumers or internal teams. Our client’s developers are key contributors and must be able to learn quickly and maintain high standards in coding and development practices.

Developers should have experience with

- Large scale applications

- Rapid deployments

- Working with large teams

Technical Requirements

- Development experience with knowledge of ASP.Net, C#,  

- Experience with web technologies – HTML, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery

- Familiar with MVC  framework is a must, knowledge of additional frameworks a plus

- Documentation tools including VISIO

- Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server, PostgresSQL and MySQL

- Experience with SOAP and REST API’s

- Knowledge of IIS or Apache is a benefit

- Experience with multi-language e-commerce sites is preferred

- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or relevant discipline

Essential Functions:

- Develop, document and deliver websites and applications on aggressive deadlines

- Unit and functional testing and implementation

- Contribute to development and  troubleshooting of existing applications

- Participate in requirement, design and many other meetings

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of latest technologies

- Coordinate deployment  of large scale sites with other teams within the company

- Ability to multitask on the fly

- Good technical documentation skills

- Adapts well to change and strives for continuous improvement

- Self-driven and able to take action and initiative
