Position Title: Senior Accounting Specialist – Remote
Location: Fully Remote

A growing stable organization specializing in healthcare technology and consulting is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to assist through a period of transition system conversion and accounting clean up. This role is responsible for overseeing complex accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliations, invoice processing, and accounts receivable, while actively contributing to process improvement initiatives. There is potential for this position to convert to a permanent role in the future, as the company continues to grow. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments, mentor junior team members, and support strategic efforts to enhance operational efficiency, all within a fully remote work environment.

Job Responsibilities:
- Generate and distribute monthly billing statements for members.
- Investigate and resolve inquiries related to member billing.
- Perform reconciliations of associated general ledger accounts.
- Compile aging reports to monitor overdue member balances.
- Work closely with the Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to ensure accurate handling of shared invoices.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff on receivable related tasks.
- Mentor AR Accountant and other junior staff, as needed, related to AR functions.
- Deliver ad hoc financial reports to support internal analysis and decision-making.
- Maintain precision and timeliness under pressure, consistently meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrate a collaborative spirit by supporting team members and engaging with cross-functional colleagues.
- Offer suggestions to enhance workflows, improve efficiency, reduce expenses, and streamline operations.
- Log work hours accurately in alignment with organizational protocols.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Benefits:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience in the healthcare provider or services industry (highly preferred), or within complex manufacturing or software/technology environments.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar or relevant role.
- Experience with software upgrades and process improvements.
- Experience with Sage 500 or another older version of Sage (Sage Intacct does not qualify).
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Fully Remote (work from the comfort of your home!!)
