Our client is a 150 bed community hospital in the heart of the nations country music capital!

They have engaged our firm to help them identify a top Risk and Patient Safety professional to help review their programs, revise and renew them and add immediate value to the organization.

Under the leadership of the Quality Director, the Clinical Risk Manager/Patient Safety Officer is responsible for facilitating the transition from a retrospective, reactive model for risk management to a prospective, proactive loss prevention, harm reducing patient safety program consistent with a high reliability organization. The Clinical Risk Manager/Patient Safety Officer manages the operation of the organization-wide Risk Management and Patient Safety programs and provides guidance to hospital staff and leaders. This position develops and maintains systems within the organization to detect, monitor, organize, measure, investigate, report, manage and prevent patient adverse events, malpractice claims, incident reports and other indicators of potential patient harm. The Clinical Risk Manager is vital in Hospital’s key aims to be on the leading edge of improving health outcomes and service, increasing patient safety and reducing error in health care processes. Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field is required with Masters preparation and related clinical experience highly desirable.

Education and Certification:

• A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s degree preferred.
• RN preferred
• Active certification in Patient Safety and Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM or ARM) required within 18 months of hire.
• 3 years’ clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Lean and project management experience desired.
