Responsibilities:

  • Advising Senior Management on a range of issues affecting the organization's ability to achieve business objectives;
  • Making recommendations and providing advice for improvements and assisting in developing solutions and implementing recommendations;
  • Conducting reviews and developing implementation strategies;
  • Assessing the organization's capacity/capability to undertake and successfully deliver initiatives, projects and business objectives;
  • Leading or supporting the delivery of specific projects;
  • Updating and providing briefings to upper management on progress and concerns of specific projects;
  • Providing advice on and/or assisting in implementing organizational changes and improvements;
  • Designing processes to review and revise existing accountabilities and competencies as the organization evolves;
  • Conducting organizational health assessment and development of strategy and its implementation;
  • Develop and update process documents, guidelines and directives;
  • Performing Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis;
  • Providing advice and guidance on organizational restructuring including but not limited to work environment, resources, budgets, organization charts and structure;
  • Preparing and presenting findings, status and other relevant matters; and
  • Developing coaching, mentoring, information sessions and training the organization to perform any of the above actions.

Must have:

  • Must be strong in either English or French or both
  • Reliability level security clearance
  • 2 years experience (in the last 5 years) working on projects for the Government of Canada, where the resource consulted Senior Management (Director level and above) on all of the following:
    • Meeting organizational objectives
    • Organization’s capacity to successfully deliver projects or business objectives
    • Assessing organizational health, developing strategy and providing recommendations for improvement
  • 2 years exp (in the last 5 years) working on projects for the Government of Canada, where the resource drafted for Senior Management (Director level and above) all of the following documents
    • Briefings
    • Assessment and analysis reports
    • Recommendations
    • Implementation Strategies
  • Worked on 1-4 projects (in the last 5 years) for the government of Canada where they provided advice through a presentation
  • Worked on 1-4 projects (in the last 5 years) for the Government of Canada where they provided Executive Management advice on the Treasury Board Secretariat policies and directives
  • Worked on 1-4 projects (in the last 10 years) for the Government of Canada where they provided strategic reviews of the organization as a whole or specific lines of business, included all of the following:
    • Meeting with stakeholders to gather information
    • Assessing organizational business outcomes against current state
    • Recommending changes to the organization to better position themselves to deliver on business objectives
  • Worked on 1-3 projects (in the last 8 years) where they provided advice and guidance on organizational restructuring which included:
    • Work environment
    • Resources
    • Budget
    • Organizational Structure (organization chart)
  • 1-3 years of experience providing strategic business advice and guidance to a Federal Government of Canada organization with a regulatory mandate
