Job Summary
The Insurance Underwriter evaluates insurance applications to assess risk and determine pricing and terms. Working closely with agents and internal departments, this role supports the company’s underwriting strategy while ensuring compliance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities

Review insurance applications and supporting documents.

Assess risks and determine appropriate premiums and coverage terms.

Issue new policies, endorsements, and renewals.

Request additional information or inspections when necessary.

Collaborate with agents, adjusters, and other departments.

Monitor claims activity to detect potential fraud or policy issues.

Maintain accurate and compliant underwriting records.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field.

At least 2–3 years of experience in personal lines or property & casualty underwriting.

Insurance certifications (e.g., AINS, CPCU) are a plus.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Proficient in insurance systems and Microsoft Office.

Bilingual proficiency preferred (Spanish/English).
