Job Title: Insurance Solution Architect
Job Description:
This person will work with Insurance clients and business analysts to gather requirements for the implementation of a full insurance data solution. The requirements will include:
- identification and detailed understanding of the systems and data sources that will integrate with the data solution;
- the historical data that may need to be loaded;
- the custom reports, dashboards, and analytics (GenAI, AI, machine learning, natural language processing) to be designed and developed;
- the timeframes for each of the above along with key dependencies; and
- technology, stack, and tool requirements.
With those requirements, this person will then be responsible for the design of the solution architecture and work as part of the team delivering the solution. This includes the analysis, design and delivery of Insurance data warehouses, operational data stores, data lakes, data marts, reporting, and extending and implementing our data and analytics software platform.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Own the analysis, design and oversee development of the data solution for Insurance (P&C) data warehouses, staging, ODS, data marts & semantic layers, reports and analytics.
- Design and develop architecture primarily on Azure, producing architecture deliverable documents.
- Experience with AWS & Google is a “nice to have”.
- Design the solution to support two-way integration of data sourced from core insurance transactional systems (policy, billing, claims, reinsurance), web-based applications, and other external sources as needed.
- Design solutions to enable integration with structured and unstructured data, using ETL, ELT, XML, JSON.
- Ensure analysis and design is completed efficiently and accurately and incorporates the entire set of requirements.
- Own creation and maintenance of documentation across the entire life-cycle.
- Participate in pre-sales, sales, training and support.
- Deliver remotely or on-site technical engagement with clients.
- Works with Analytics Developers, Data Architects and ETL Developers to design and develop the complete technical solution.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:
- 3 years P&C Insurance domain experience.
- 3 or more years of hands-on experience managing and operating systems in a cloud environment (Azure preferred).
- Ability to design and deploy dynamically scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant, and reliable cloud applications.
- Ability to identify and implement appropriate cloud services to design and deploy an application in alignment with functional and non-functional requirements.
- Ability to migrate complex, multi-tier cloud applications.
- Ability to design and deploy enterprise-wide scalable operations
- Understanding of cloud cost components and ability to architect cloud applications that are cost-effective and cost-efficient.
- Ability to evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning applications.
- Ability to provide best practice guidance on the architectural design across multiple applications and projects of the enterprise.
- Familiarity with a scripting language.
- Ability to map business objectives to application/architecture requirements.
- Ability to architect a continuous software integration and deployment process.
