We are currently seeking a skilled Litigation Lawyer for our client in the Ottawa downtown core. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 8 years of litigation experience, with a preference for expertise in insurance defense, accident benefits, or personal injury. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases alongside a talented team of legal professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of litigation matters, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and representing clients in court proceedings.
- Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong drafting abilities in preparing legal documents, including briefs, motions, and correspondence.
- Foster teamwork and positive interpersonal relationships within the firm, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Display adaptability and resilience in handling unforeseen circumstances, proactively finding solutions to challenges as they arise.
- Exhibit solid analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in legal research and drafting.
- Effectively manage clients and practice responsibilities, demonstrating professionalism and commitment to exceptional client service.
- Uphold sound legal ethics and professional conduct in all interactions and activities.
Qualifications:
- 4 to 7 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, accident benefits, or personal injury.
- Member of the Ontario Bar in good standing.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Strong drafting skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingualism and/or partial practice experience are considered assets.
- Demonstrated ability to think proactively and respond effectively to unforeseen circumstances.
