Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Sales for one of the nation’s best-known, well-respected provider of flatbed and heavy haul transportation services. With a fleet of more than 300 trailers includes lowboys, stretch floats, flatbeds, dry vans, and intermodal chassis, their specialized heavy haul equipment can accommodate loads in excess of 1,000,000 pounds. This diversity allows the organization to meet the total transportation needs of our customers.
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for organically growing revenues by working with existing customers; contact active/inactive customers and set appointments for the sales team to visit and reintroduce company offerings; update contact information for customer records in ITS; research and qualify non-customer requests for quotes and set in-person/phone appointments for sales team if needed; learn and present companies customer portal capabilities to customers; send new account paperwork to prospective customers, coordinating with credit department; source new revenue opportunities through outbound cold calls and emails to generate interest with decision makers; learn how to quote legal loads; learn how to quote over dimensional / over-weight loads; learn when and how to quote accessorial charges; learn the capabilities of company equipment; support the quote department by generating quotes, managing customers, liaise with sales team.

Background Required:
  • Sales Experience to include inside/outside sales and management (3 yrs)
  • Effective selling techniques via phone and electronic communication
  • Customer relationship development ability
  • Sales, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Location: Houston, TX
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Strong geographical knowledge (of competition, shippers/receivers, economic trends)
  • Container / Drayage Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
