Injection Molding Process Technician
INJECTION MOLDING PROCESS TECHNICIAN:
The Process Technician is responsible for achieving optimal processes within the parameters of TAMU.
Description:
- Create and maintain optimal cycles with a minimum of 85% OEE (Overall Efficiency)
- Troubleshoot machines and molds and help locate issues communicating with tooling and maintenance as needed.
- Create centerline sheets for each mold and maintain oversight to understand variances from centerline.
- Focus on number of stops per machine developing corrective action to get stops to zero.
- Answer machine alarms and restart machine and understand the cause of the stop.
- Work with maintenance/tooling to identify through defect handling, any anomalies for both machines and molds.
- Develop mold PM (Preventative Maintenance) activities to maintain the integrity of each mold.
- Develop capable processes on all new molds.
- Follow up on all hold/reject parts to understand mold/machine anomalies.
- Identify parts running with 1.5%+ scrap and develop process to reduce
- Participate and lead TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.
- Work with mold shop to reduce labor content through tool repairs and process enhancements.
- Document all process changes with justification.
- Participate in new mold design for moldability and efficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
- Able to operate forklift; must pass a written and driving test.
- Ability to operate various molding machines.
- Able to read and write English
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational/technical school training preferred; on-the-job training provided.
- Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment.
