BCTG’s direct client is looking for an Infrastructure Manager for a 6+ month contract. This position provides overall project management for technology infrastructure projects. The primary function of this position will be to plan, schedule and track core infrastructure technology projects within the IT department. The ability to continually identify, prioritize and mitigate day-to-day project issues and risks and effectively control project scope are critical success factors.
This position requires strong organization skills, excellent interpersonal skills. The Infrastructure Project Manager will work collaboratively with IT managers and associates across the organization. This person must be able to manage multiple projects that are being executed concurrently, be able to organize resources and project work, be able to escalate and address risks before they become issues and be strong/confident enough to communicate and address issues up and down.
The PM will be responsible for all project managements aspects of multiple concurrent projects. The person in this position will develop and manage existing project documentation, including project schedules, weekly and monthly status reports, presentations, risk logs, action logs, issue logs, etc. The Project Manager works proactively to gather information required for analysis of project cost, resources, time and other project supporting deliverables.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ability to self-manage; a self-starter that requires little to no oversight once fully trained
- 2+ years of project management experience; PMP certification preferred
- Ability to manage IT Infrastructure projects in a Waterfall environment
- Detail-oriented approach to project management, ensuring all tasks and notes are documented properly and sent out in a timely manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Lead calls of up to 15 people, driving team members towards agreed-upon completion dates
- Ability to create, manage, maintain and publish project schedules
- Ability to lead small to medium-sized, moderately complex infrastructure projects (IT experience preferred)
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization; from technicians to top-level management, including the CIO/CISO
- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once
- Compliance with all PMO documentation, including charters, schedules, RACIs, stakeholder registers, etc
