Infrastructure Architect
Our client, a leader in loan servicing is looking for an Infrastructure Architect
The Infrastructure Architect will plan and ensure that investments infrastructure technology meets both current and future business requirements and are able to provide the best ROI to the corporation.
SUMMARY OF ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Develop and maintain the infrastructure architecture blueprint that will support current and future business growth, as well as deliver the lowest possible TCO on technical infrastructures and highest possible ROI on infrastructure investment.
2. Manages the infrastructure architecture knowledge base, including but not limited to: current and target infrastructure inventory and schematics, migration path from current environment to target blueprint, platform to platform interfaces, systems management principles and standards.
3. Provides high level solution design, cost estimate and recommendations for new technology implementations and changes to existing technology. Assists with the documentation of implementation steps.
4. Participates in project work and day to day IT Operations initiatives to ensure consistent application and implementation of the infrastructure architecture recommendations, standards and guidelines.
5. Researches and provides decision papers as required to substantiate technology decisions.
6. Provides third level support to any significant technology changes and production issues.
7. Keeps current on industry standards and practices for IT infrastructure implementation, maintenance and monitoring through research via internet, vendor information and other appropriate media as well as attendance at industry and user conferences.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
1. At least 10 years industry experience in designing, developing, deploying and supporting technical infrastructure in a large-scale enterprise. Experience in mainframe and multi tiered architecture integration and deployment, network design, monitoring tools, interfaces, connectivity to heterogeneous environments and capacity planning are required.
2. In depth understanding and hand on experience in implementing large scale multi tiered architecture as well as the associated ongoing monitoring, support and maintenance are required.
3. Demonstrated ability to work with and mentor other IT technical staff
4. Well-developed presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to converse at a technical level with other IT technical staff as well as explain base technology design to senior management and business executives.
5. Ability to focus on the long-term plan while providing recommendations and design for near term deliverables.
6. Ability to get results through motivation and influence without direct authority over the staff.
7. Ability to manage time and priorities across several initiatives.
8. Formal Computer Technology training. University Degree or College Diploma with major in Computer Science or completion of specialized technology programs.
9. Relevant industrial certification and accreditation required.
