Information Security Specialist

APN Staffing is now hiring for our client - Information Security Specialist this is a Senor Level position and is a DIRECT HIRE. Hybrid work schedule after the training has been completed on-site (90 days). Candidates must be local to the State of Arizona - this is not a fully remote position and the selected candidate will need to report to the office per IT needs. Our client is expanding their IT division and looking for a strong leader in this new role. Position comes with very competitive Benefit/PTO/Vacation/401K package. Salary range is (100K-120K a year (depending on qualifications)

General Job Responsibilities:
Train and educate staff in proper computer use and security awareness while providing tips to avoid data lass or corruption
Identify and suggest improvements to existing security systems
Provide technical leadership and engineering support to customers and in-house teams
Advise end users on security incident trends and effective counteractive measures
Create, improve, and maintain information technology security policies, baselines, standards, and procedures
Create security checks in the infrastructure that help deter hackers, spyware, and other malware from being installed on endpoints while working with internal information technology support team to mitigate detected vulnerabilities
Provide thorough knowledge of technical risk analysis, assessment, and mitigation
General Job Requirements:
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, SQL, or JavaScript
Associates degree in Computer Science or related field required - Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of security architecture principles and design patterns
Experience in handling security incidents, including investigation and remediation
3 years of relevant technology experience required
Experience with administering and securing Microsoft technologies and services, including Active Directory AND 2 years of experience with administering network security devices and solutions, including firewalls, active monitoring, vulnerability detection and auditing tools preferred
Experience in managing security projects and initiatives is highly desired
Relevant Information Security industry certifications, (CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) HIGHLY DESIRED
