About the Company:
Our client is a large recognized leader in the event/exhibit marketing and design industry. They have been in operation for more than 25 years and have worked with Fortune 500 clients such as GSK, Johnson & Johnson, Rogers, Boehringer Ingelheim, RBC and many more.
They are seeking to add an Industrial Seamstress to their dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Review work orders, production drawings, specifications, and finishing instructions prior to commencing work
- Operate industrial sewing machines and related equipment safely and efficiently
- Sew, seam, hem, bind, and assemble printed fabrics, textiles, banners, SEG graphics, and soft signage products
- Install silicone edging (Keder), Velcro, webbing, zippers, sleeves, grommets, and other finishing components as required
- Measure, trim, align, and prepare fabric graphics to ensure accurate production and finishing
- Perform quality inspections throughout the production process to verify dimensions, alignment, stitching quality, and overall workmanship
- Identify and report production concerns, material issues, or quality deficiencies
- Complete repairs, alterations, and rework of fabric graphics and soft signage products as required
- Maintain production schedules and complete assigned tasks within established deadlines
- Coordinate with production, print, warehouse, shipping, and project teams to ensure efficient workflow
- Safely operate hand tools, cutting tools, measuring devices, and other production equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with material handling, staging, packing, shipping preparation, and warehouse organization
- Follow all company policies, production procedures, and workplace safety standards
- Support other production and operational duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience operating industrial sewing machines in a production environment
- Experience sewing and finishing fabrics, textiles, banners, signage, or related products
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, production drawings, measurements, and specifications
- Strong understanding of sewing techniques, fabric handling, and finishing methods
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to identify and resolve production and quality concerns
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required
- Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record
- Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a clean work environment
- Experience with soft signage, SEG graphics, trade show displays, or large-format graphics (considered an asset)
- Experience with Keder (silicone edge graphics), Velcro applications, webbing, and specialty fabric finishing (considered an asset)
- Experience in the trade show, exhibit, events, signage, or large-format print industry (considered an asset)
- Familiarity with quality control processes and production workflows (considered an asset)
- Forklift certification or warehouse experience (considered an asset)
