Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Operations Manager or Supervisor for a company that specializes in rigging, crating, moving, erecting, painting and storage of heavy machinery throughout Texas, United States and around the world. They pride in being the equipment movers that have consistently provided the highest quality services to a wide range of different industries. Industries they service include aerospace, automotive, food and beverage, medical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and HVAC just to name a few. They are also the primary heavy machinery movers for mechanical contractors, machine tool dealers, metal cutting, power plants and other industrial industries.
The Industrial Millwright position prepares and assists in the disassembly, rigging, moving, securing and re-installation of industrial machinery. Assist in the loading, securing and unloading of industrial machinery from company or common carrier trailers. Be adept in the procedures necessary to safely and efficiently perform these functions with the proper equipment and materials such as forklifts, skates, jacks, slings, chains, shackles, etc. Perform disconnects, including hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and their individual components. Operate company equipment and vehicles in a safe manner. Serve as an effective and responsible member of a team to accomplish the tasks above. Position responsibilities include: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to construction equipment and machinery; Dismantle equipment when required for repair or transportation and reassemble it at the appropriate time; Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools; Assembles machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools; Align and adjust machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation, including use of hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs; Grind and file machinery parts both on-site and in controlled circumstances; Travel to jobsites (sometimes multiple sites per day) to meet project-based needs; Direct construction workers when interacting with or using equipment; May operate engine lathe or milling machine to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; Proficient in the use of transits, theodolite and optics for the geometric alignment of equipment and production lines; Can perform shop structural steel welding and fabrication, when not assigned to field work; Capable of using precision (Machinist) levels for the leveling of machines and production lines.

Background Required:
  • Rigging & Machinery Moving and/or Industrial Equipment experience (3 years)
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical equipment and machinery
  • Able to read wire diagrams and terminate from panel to associated limit switch/servo etc.
  • Proficient in trouble shooting wiring and identifying breaks in insulated wire
  • Able to assemble and lay wire tracks / cable trays
  • Operate & Setup Heavy Lift (i.e. Boomlifts, Forklifts, Gantry’s)
  • Operate & Setup Rigging Equipment (i.e. Dollies, Jacks, Skates, etc.)
  • Procedures involved in moving, loading, unloading & setting equipment
  • Excellent communication, (verbal, written, presentations)
  • Education: High School Diploma / GED
  • Residence: Greater Houston, TX area (Relocation assistance evaluated on case-by-case basis)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Electrical Cabinet Assembly is a PLUS
  • Computer literate: Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A)
