Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager of for one of the for fastest growing nationally recognized integrated supply chain solutions provider with unparalleled expertise storing and handling retail and food-grade products.
The Industrial Engineer – DC Design is responsible for developing a conceptual and detailed design and the implementation of new distribution and fulfillment business. Leads the development of a design package that may include facility layouts, material handling equipment designs, storage media designs, process designs, and slotting and pick path analyses. The design package may also include warehouse management systems and warehouse controls system requirement definitions, capacity plans with noted constraints, warehouse utilization studies, and labor models and staffing plans.

Background Required:
  • Industrial Engineering within warehousing, facility design, layout, configuration & re-engineering (3-5 yrs)
  • Warehouse design
  • Material handling equipment
  • Storage technologies
  • Warehouse operational knowledge (i.e. pick methodology, work measurement, labor management, slotting)
  • Warehouse systems (i.e. WMS, WCS, WES)
  • AutoCAD and SQL software
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (industrial engineering preferred)
  • Residence: Tukwila, WA
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • LMS or TMS systems
  • Supervision
  • Advanced Degree –Master’s Degree
Other Essential Abilities and Skills:
  • Analytical (i.e. data collection, analysis, design, recommendation, root cause investigation)
  • Interpreted financial reports, technical procedures, engineering drawings, and governmental regulations
  • Wrote reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Managed multiple projects at one time
  • Communicated process and technical concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Solved practical problems
  • Dealt with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existed
  • Attention to detail
