Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline. 3 to 5 years experience in Industrial Engineering related to an automotive industry. Written and verbal communications skills. Strong problem solving skills. Proficient PC skills – ACAD ver: 2000, MS Office, MS Project.

Summary: Responsible for plant capacity planning, floor plan layouts, coordination of timing for equipment modifications, or new installations, plant capital needs, and OEE calculation tracking across all lines


  • Analysis of program takt, part-to part cycle, and crew cycle times and their affect on customer prototype/production requirements and plant capacities
  • Analysis and determination of flow/space/layouts/manpower needs to meet customer prototype/production requirements
  • Attend Program team meetings and provide input, information and recommendations as needed
  • Plant time studies (including elemental analysis) using stopwatch or other IE methodologies such as MOST or MTM
  • Preparation of appropriations requests (PAR’s) and purchase orders
  • Vendor contact, request for quotation and quotation analysis and recommendation as well as tracking implementation timing / impacts to plant capacity
  • All plant layout proposals, maintenance of current layouts, determination of space requirements of programs being quoted
  • All drawings as required
  • Plant Capacity Planning; Develop capacity needs based on JD Power planning volume numbers, develop action plans for maximum utilization of capital equipment and action plans for over capacity conditions
  • Develop program capital requirements and detail preparation
  • Assist / develop reports or presentations as required
  • Track PAR spending
  • OEE Analysis, database update, and monthly report
  • Track service tooling database and disposal submissions
  • Interaction as needed with all disciplines / levels
  • Assist any special projects as required by Engineering Manager
  • Quote engineering changes
  • Engineering/Prototype Trial Quotes Ergonomics, packaging, PFMEA, QS9000/TS16949, Operator
