Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and monitoring all types of import shipments from global Company agents to ensure timely and efficient delivery for Company's customers. Provides exceptional customer service through accurate and competitive quotations to support business growth and client retention. Collaborates closely with the Sales Team to deliver seamless operational support.

Job Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Company Agents worldwide in order to obtain best rates and routes, (includes mark up, calculations, conversions and comparisons) for movement of cargo to Trinidad & Tobago to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Make regular contact/courtesy calls with assigned customers through telemarketing (at least once per month) to source new/repeat business
  • Monitor and coordinate the movement of cargo through contact with the Carrier / Agents and inform the customer
  • Assist in giving timely advice to customers when there is a delay in the arrival (or departure) of cargo up to the point of issue /hand over of documents to relevant department
  • Liaise with Sales Team to provide administrative support, information on shipments, new leads and feedback from customers
  • Assist in investigating customer queries and report on them as they relate to rates, tallies, missing cargo, missing documents and such
  • Liaise with customers and brokers to coordinate destination customs clearance on arrival when needed
  • Liaise with office locations in relation to export queries if and when needed to address/resolve issues
  • Communicate with Sales Team by providing feedback from customers and Agents
  • Coordinate cargo pick-up for crating and packing of both general and dangerous goods shipments from origin
  • Assist Project Team with DDU & DDP shipments in the absence of the Project Coordinator.
  • Liaise with Insurance/Credit Department to confirm Insurance* on cargo
  • Coordinate cargo releases with Fast flow and customers to do weekly consolidation and ensure all documents, invoices, Caricom, IMO, consignee information etc. are received within deadlines
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a customer service oriented position, ideally in the cargo industry
  • At least five GCE/CXC passes, two of these in Mathematics & English
  • Diploma or degree in marketing, business, or related field highly desirable
