Seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to manage and optimize the health, performance, and security of our IT systems. This role focuses on system maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable and efficient IT operations. The ideal candidate will implement best practices, maintain system integrity, and address technical issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular system updates, apply patches, upgrade software, and maintain configurations to align with operational needs.
- Conduct proactive system health checks to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations.
- Monitor and manage system performance to ensure uptime targets (e.g., 99.9% or higher).
- Maintain directory services and access controls, including managing user accounts, group policies, and integrations with Azure AD.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of IT hardware and devices, including inventory tracking, deployments, and disposal of outdated equipment.
- Utilize asset management tools to document and maintain accurate records of IT systems and devices.
- Administer cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, and private cloud solutions, ensuring proper resource provisioning and cost optimization.
- Administer email systems, collaboration tools, and file storage solutions to support business needs.
- Collaborate with the security team to monitor and manage endpoint protection, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents in compliance with IT security policies.
- Ensure backup systems are operational, monitored, and regularly tested.
- Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, processes, troubleshooting steps, and software licensing.
- Prepare reports on system performance, capacity planning, and cost projections to inform IT strategy and budgeting.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of IT operations and organizational goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in system administration or a related role.
- Experience with hybrid cloud integration and private cloud solutions.
- Proficiency with Windows Server, VMware, Microsoft Active Directory, and Group Policy management, including hybrid environments integrating with Microsoft's cloud environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365).
- Networking knowledge, including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Basic scripting and automation skills (PowerShell).
- Familiarity with IT monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds or PRTG).
- Experience managing distributed IT environments, including multi-site operations across subsidiaries.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST CSF or NERC CIP.
- Experience in managing security incidents and supporting audits.
- Experience in change management to minimize disruption during system changes.
