Summary: The IT Project Manager is a pivotal role to ensure client engagements are executed with high-quality work, meeting forecasted time and duration targets, delegating tasks to the necessary employees, presenting projects’ progress and results, and aligning with the defined solution requirements.Job

Description:

  • Setting project goals and designing the plan collaboratively with the client to meet those goals effectively.
  • Communicate critical client feedback to project development, business, and management teams.
  • Liaise between clients and all teams to maximize effective communication, ensure point-of-view is heard, and center client perspectives.
  • Maintain and update the Project Plan, including performing what-if analyses and applying risk events to predict impacts to schedule, scope, budget, project resources, and staffing.
  • Maintain and update supporting project management documents (Risk Register, Issues Log, Task Tracker, Dashboards, etc.) including organizing meetings via Teams.
  • Communicate and escalate project risks and issues, as needed, that may have a negative impact on the project schedule, scope, and/or budget.
  • Answer client questions and locate answers to technical or complex inquiries; engage Subject Matter Experts, as needed.
  • Identify ways to expand existing client relationships and form new relationships.
  • Support internal projects to standardize project approaches, methodologies, and templates.
  • Support the creation of training and education deployment plans and documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and User Guide materials.
  • Support IT technical and functional testing processes.
  • Complete assigned and agreed to work within the allotted time and with a high level of quality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Business Management, Project Management, or Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of technology implementation experience, including executing project implementation flow of planning, design, build, testing, training, deployment, and hypercare.
  • Experience in leading and supervising direct or indirect staff, virtual teams, services networks, and vendor relationships, when applicable.
  • Experience in Management Consulting, or Supply Chain Control Tower settings preferred.
  • Understanding and experience with developing and maintaining key project management tools: Risk Register, Issues Log, Task Tracker, Dashboards, Project Plan, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Management Plan, etc.
  • Understanding of the process and purpose for executing and maintaining a requirements traceability matrix through the design, build, and testing phases.
  • Knowledge of the different modes of transportation business operations including Truckload, LTL, Ocean, Air, Rail, Intermodal, and Parcel.
  • Experience with project management and planning software, such as Smartsheet or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Familiar with the design, planning, and implementation of ERP software programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management and explain technical issues.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle any issues that occur during project completion.
  • PMP Certified, preferred.
