Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated IT Project Manager to work on-site with our client, a Fortune-1000 electronics company in Colorado Springs, CO.
This is a long-term, at-will contract position that will see the ideal candidate working alongside industry-leading talent in a world-class environment.
- Serve as a Project Manager for the End User Computing & Collaboration (EUCC) organization. EUCC provides solutions and services for users in areas such as collaboration tools, mobility, messaging, s/w licensing, and client computing. Responsible for:
- Project Structure and Team management:
o Identify core team members
o Ensure team member roles and responsibilities are defined and understood
o Work effectively in a virtual team model with many and sometimes all the team members located remotely and in different time zones
o Work effectively with team members from other cultures
o Identify project sponsors and stakeholders
- Project Definition
o Define the project scope, objectives, opportunities, risks, resources, dependencies and high-level timeline
o Identify key processes or guidelines that will need to be adhere to, (e.g. will a security review be required)
o Create a project data sheet (PDS)
- Project Planning
o Lead the team to create a project schedule
o Develop work breakdown structures to required levels
o Estimate the effort and time needed for each work item
o Identify risk areas and create a risk mitigation plan
o For large projects, schedule major phase reviews/sign-offs
- Project Communication
o Escalate to management and/or sponsors when schedule or scope cannot be delivered as promised
o Determine project meetings and management update cadence
o Facilitate project team meetings
o Document project meeting minutes
o Create and publish project status updates, (usually weekly)
o Create senior management updates/reviews as required
- Issue Management
o Prioritize issues, escalating in a timely manner to sponsors or overseeing manager any critical issues that arise
o Log and track issues
- Project Office and Administration
o Establish audit-proof processes to track issues, action items, and key decisions
o Establish a project repository for documents and files
o Effectively utilize and set up collaboration tools for project team members to use
o Ensure appropriate use of internal processes, e.g. Change Management, Data Privacy, Security Review
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Systems, and/or PMP, or equivalent experience.
- Proven technical and project leadership experience.
- Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Demonstrated success as a leader of people and manager of technical projects.
