Job Description

The IT Officer is responsible for planning, managing, and maintaining MOBA’s information technology infrastructure and digital systems to ensure secure, efficient, and uninterrupted operations of the Secretariat. The role supports digital transformation, data integrity, and technology-driven efficiency across MOBA’s operations and stakeholder engagements.

Key Responsibilities

IT Systems & Infrastructure Management

  • Install, configure, maintain, and monitor all IT systems, hardware, software, and networks within the MOBA Secretariat.
  • Ensure reliable operation of servers, workstations, internet connectivity, email systems, and digital platforms.
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and technology refresh cycles.

Data Management & Security

  • Manage MOBA’s databases and digital records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Implement data protection, cybersecurity, and access control measures
  • Conduct regular data backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place
  • Monitor system vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures

Digital Platforms & Innovation

  • Manage and maintain MOBA’s website, digital databases, and internal systems
  • Support online registrations, digital fundraising platforms, and communication tools
  • Recommend and implement technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and stakeholder engagement

Vendor & Asset Management

  • Liaise with IT vendors and service providers
  • Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and licenses
  • Support procurement of IT equipment in line with approved policies

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on IT systems and network administration experience
  • Strong troubleshooting, cybersecurity awareness, and systems management skills.
  • Being a MOBA is an added advantage.
