IT Manager/Director

Dagen Personnel is conducting a confidential search for a small, private equity oil and gas operator needs an IT Manager/Director. Their duties include identifying the needs of the company, working with senior management to create an IT strategy, managing one other IT contract employee and troubleshooting technical issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, solid managerial skills, and the ability to translate our business needs into optimal IT solutions. Further, the ideal candidate must possess a "can-do" attitude, with a proactive, roll up your sleeves sense of urgency. This is a working managerial position. It has no one directly reporting to them as this point.

Responsibilities:

• Manage information technology and computer systems
• Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
• Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
• Negotiate with vendors as necessary
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Train corporate employees on systems as necessary
• Audit systems and assess their outcomes
• Preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as an IT Manager or relevant experience
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
• Expertise in data center management and data governance
• Ability to manage personnel and or work independently as necessary
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage and address cyber security issues and planning
• BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
• Experience in upstream oil and gas
• Experience working for a private company
