IT INFRAESTRUCTURE & SECURITY PROJECT MANAGER

We are collaborating with a multinational FMCG company who is currently involved in one of the greatest transformation projects and, at the same time, they are expanding their busines. Therefore, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic IT Infraestructure & Security Project Manager.
Goals
As an IT Infrastructure & Security Project Manager, your primary goal is to successfully lead and deliver a portfolio of concurrent small -to-mid sized IT infrastructure and cybersecurity projects in a global, hybrid Azure environment, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards. Drive demand intake, prioritization, and capacity orchestration across internal teams and MSPs/vendors, while proactively managing risks and dependencies. Contribute to uplifting project delivery and security governance maturity from ad-hoc practices to consistent, scalable standards.
Position Overview
The IT Infrastructure & Security Project Manager is a member of the Infrastructure Team with strong technical context (non-hands-on) to orchestrate delivery across global/local IT teams, Security, DevOps/Cloud, and external partners. The role focuses on structured project execution, vendor/MSP management, stakeholder alignment from engineers to leadership, and continuous improvement of project governance (templates, reporting, gates) to accelerate cloud transformation, strengthen cybersecurity posture, improve implementation efficiency, and reduce business/IT risk.
Main Tasks:
1. Demand Intake, Prioritization and Capacity Orchestration:
- Run structured intake for new initiatives; clarify goals, scope, outcomes, and feasibility.
- Facilitate prioritization with sponsors and IT leadership based on value, urgency, risk, and capacity.
- Orchestrate capacity across internal teams and MSPs/vendors; manage dependencies and resource conflicts.
2.Project Planning and Definition:
- Define scope, deliverables, milestones, budget, risks/issues/assumptions/dependencies (RAID), and acceptance criteria for IT infrastructure and security initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures, critical path analysis, and contingency plans.
- Facilitate requirement gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical project specifications .
3.Project Execution and Management:
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure, including day-to-day oversight, task allocation, and progress tracking.
- Ensure project milestones are met and deliverables are completed to the required quality standards.
- Apply project management best practices and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) as appropriate for each project.
4.Project Closure & Documentation:
- Ensure proper project closure, including documentation of lessons learned.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement
- Archive project documentation for future reference
5.Stakeholder Communication and Coordination:
- Establish and maintain robust communication channels with all project stakeholders, including technical teams, business units, vendors, and senior management.
- Coordinate external partners for hands-on implementation; ensure clear responsibilities (RACI), milestone tracking, and quality.
- Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues, and facilitate decision-making processes.
6.Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify, assess, and monitor project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and resolution plans.
- Proactively address impediments and drive solutions to keep projects on track.
- Document and communicate risk management strategies to all relevant parties.
7.Resource and Budget Management:
- Manage project resources effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization (including personnel, equipment, and finances).
- Track project expenditures against budget, providing regular forecasts and managing variances.
- Work with procurement to manage vendor contracts and service level agreements related to project delivery.
8.Quality Assurance and Control:
- Ensure all project deliverables adhere to established quality standards, technical specifications, and organizational policies (e.g., security, compliance).
- Facilitate testing and validation activities, ensuring solutions meet functional and non -functional requirements.
- Oversee project documentation and ensure proper handover to operational teams.
9.Emerging Technologies and Best Practices:
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT infrastructure, cloud computing (especially Microsoft Azure), and cybersecurity.
- Evaluate and recommend new solutions or approaches that can benefit future projects or improve existing infrastructure.
Requirements for the function holder
Education
Additions / Certifications:
Required:
- Project Management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
Preferred (nice to have):
- Agile/Scrum certification
- Azure Administrator (AZ-104) and/or Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305)
- Security certifications (e.g., CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor)
- ITIL Foundation
Experience
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of concurrent small -to-mid sized IT infrastructure and/or security projects.
- Experience in global, cross-functional environments coordinating international local teams and senior stakeholders.
- Strong experience managing MSPs/vendors (scope, milestones, quality, escalation, and delivery governance).
- Demonstrated budget, timeline, dependency, and risk management in complex technical environments.
- Experience introducing or improving PM governance (templates, reporting, gates, decision forums) is highly valued.
Knowledge & Skills:
Technical understanding (non-hands-on):
- Azure and hybrid infrastructure concepts; cloud migration/adoption/modernization; DevOps-oriented collaboration.
- Azure governance concepts and operational readiness.
- IAM, network segmentation, SD-WAN, Zero Trust.
- Endpoint security, EDR, SOC/SIEM integration.
- Data protection (DLP/encryption) and OT/industrial IT security considerations.
- Project tooling (e.g., Microsoft Planner, Jira).
Project & leadership skills:
- Strong stakeholder management and executive-ready communication; leadership through influence (no direct authority).
- Strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Languages: English required, German a big plus, French / Italian / Spanish a plus
