Position Summary


Magellan Aerospace, New York (Corona, Queens) has an exciting opportunity for IT Engineer. In this permanent full-time position, the successful candidate will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, upgrade and continuous improvement of the underlying infrastructure to support the manufacturing business unit in all levels. The position combines advocacy of best practice with hands-on software and hardware implementation, support, and troubleshooting activities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Implement technical solutions and provide high quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, or enterprise application software
  • Apply security updates and maintain the integrity of the overall facility IT infrastructure
  • Coordinate and schedule installation of new IT systems
  • Develop training documentation and training of junior IT engineers and other IT staff to improve job skills and work efficiency
  • Oversee Backup Administration, Disaster Recovery, and Business continuity efforts
  • Work collaboratively across teams to support the facility’s entire IT infrastructure
  • Participate in designing, planning, implementing, and administrating various IT systems
  • Stay aligned with the Corporate IT team and contribute to corporate IT projects and initiatives
  • Create and maintain detailed Visio's for Datacenter Infrastructure
  • Monitor systems health status
  • Other related duties as assigned


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (4 year experience minimum)
  • MCSA, VCP-DCV, CCNA a plus.
  • Minimum of four years implementing and supporting enterprise information technology infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization infrastructure (VMware vSphere), SAN storage systems, backup and replication technology, and enterprise security practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Windows Active Directory, account management, Group Policy and Security Groups
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • LAN and wireless networks, and VoIP telecommunications.
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise hardware systems and ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues.
