CBIZ Talent & Compensation Solutions has an immediate opening for an IT / Systems Manager to be onsite in Carteret NJ for a manufacturing company in the food industry.

Only local candidates able to work onsite will be considered.

The Systems Manager will oversee the IT systems, infrastructure and staff to ensure best practices are established and followed, and the environment is secure and efficient. This is a hands on role as well as strategic.

Candidates must have

• At least 7-10 years of experience in system administration and management, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years of managing IT staff.
• Familiarity with network protocols, infrastructure, and security practices and experience managing ongoing cybersecurity compliance activities, including scheduling and executing assessments.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and server management.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft’s Azure, O365, Exchange, and SQL.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Main responsibilities include

• Managing the IT team responsible for the IT systems.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
• Manage ongoing cybersecurity compliance activities, including the scheduling and execution of controlled assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational security standards.
• Oversee system installations, configurations, upgrades, and decommissioning of systems.
• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures for system management Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
• Manage ongoing cybersecurity compliance activities, including the scheduling and execution of controlled assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational security standards.
• Stay current with technology trends and best practices in system management.
• Oversee system installations, configurations, upgrades, and decommissioning of systems.
• Ensure data integrity and security through effective backup and recovery procedures.
• Oversee the management and maintenance of IT systems, including a Sage X3 deployment, cyber security improvements and automation of ongoing support.
• Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software solutions.
• Provide technical support and training to staff as needed.
• Plan and execute IT projects and report on IT metrics and risks
