ICU Clinical Coordinator

With 80 beds and a passion for excellence, our client is seeking a pharmacy executive to take their service line to the next level.

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for supporting, directing and collaborating activities within their organizational purview to provide the highest quality Loving Kindness care to patients and their families. This responsibility supersedes and is the focus of all others.

The Clinical Coordinator is a professional Registered Nurse, responsible for ongoing supervision of a clinical area. Duties performed involve weighing and evaluating factors requiring judgment, analytical ability and problem solving. The Clinical Coordinator RN is the first line support for patients, staff, physicians and other related providers on service-specific issues. The Clinical Coordinator RN collaborates on clinical and non-clinical issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides leadership to support high quality loving care of patients and families

  • Patients and families care.
  • Strives to instill the same values in staff and holds them accountable to the standards set for service excellence.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, patients and families to assess, develop and carry out the comprehensive plan of care.
  • Acts as a patient/family advocate.
  • Assists peers in the delivery of patient care as requested and available when professional skills and judgment are needed, acting as a clinical resource.
  • Promotes and practices the established standards for safety and infection control.
  • Involves staff in projects that encourage and provide opportunities for professional development.
  • Promotes cohesive work teams and constructive conflict resolution, actively supporting intra- and inter-disciplinary teamwork across the organization.
  • Coordinator provides direct patient service when necessary but at least 16 hours per week.

Assures the personnel, workplace, and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe, high quality patient and family care

  • Assists with interviews, the hiring process and setting performance expectations.
  • Assists in setting the standards for and oversees daily department operations.
  • Maintains personnel productivity at acceptable levels for the unit-based standards.
  • Collaborates with the Nursing Supervisor and other Nursing Directors to evaluate work schedules as needed to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
  • Accurately and efficiently completes personnel time and attendance records to assure compliance with organizational and department standards.
  • Coaches and mentors personnel to make cost-effective decisions and use resources prudently.

MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required.

Current personnel without a BSN are required to enroll in an academic program promptly in order to complete degree requirements within 3 years.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Five years minimum experience on the related unit.
  • Two to three years of leadership experience preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current licensure in the state of Maine as a Registered Nurse or Compact licensure.
  • Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
