Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the COO, of an industry leader in third-party logistics providing Transportation, Warehousing, and Third-Party Logistics Solutions.
Will be the strategic and tactical business day to day business partner providing corporate and regional support, counsel and advice on human resource strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Responsible for planning and directing all aspects of Human Resources policies, objectives and initiatives with staff to support organizational development, recruiting, training, on-boarding, compensation, benefits, employee development, employee relations, governmental & legal, risk management and HR information systems (HRIS). Ultimately responsible for staffing and human resource generalist initiatives within the operations. Provides guidance on labor related engagement. Maintains working knowledge on current Human Resources trends and best practices. Objective is to support fast organizational growth.

Background Required:
  • Progressive Human Resources functional role within Transportation and Logistics
  • Coaches leadership team in areas of corrective counseling, performance management and employment practices and new company initiatives.
  • Employee Handbook, Benefits, Insurance negotiations and enhancements
  • Compensation Review (Benchmarking, Incentive Plans, Position descriptions, Salary banding)
  • On-boarding, Training & Development of new employees
  • Benefits & Insurance Management and Policies knowledgeable (BWC)
  • Labor Law compliance (EEOC, OSHA, FMLA, Union welfare/pension procedures)
  • Transportation Regulations (DOT, ELD, FMCSR, CFR-49)
  • Employee Recruitment Strategies i.e. (college/university/professional recruiting efforts, print/media)
  • HR Information Systems (HRIS) knowledgeable
  • Computer literate (Microsoft suite, Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Travel: Up to 25%
  • Residence: Kearny, NJ
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification
  • Familiar with the Logistics and Transportation Industry
  • Education: Advanced Degree
