Responsibilities for the Human Resources Manager include:
Provides overall support of the organization’s human resources initiatives by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.
Provides HR support and guidance to employees and management in the resolution of employee relations issues. This includes investigating complaints and responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs. The HR Manager will oversee employee investigations and disciplinary meetings. Forwards appropriate matters to the VP – Human Resources.
Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes employee recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants. Collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Supports organization staff by maintaining the recruiting and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting employee onboarding and analyzing exit interviews to identify process strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee performance appraisal program by training managers on employee assessment and development methods and ensure reviews are completed timely.
Maintains knowledge of employee benefits programs to inform employees of benefit programs and answers employee questions as needed. This includes conducting educational programs on benefit programs and open enrollment.
Analyzes local trends in compensation and pay practices to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent. Conducts periodic pay surveys; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal and external training opportunities for all employees.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. This will include conducting investigations, maintaining records and representing the organization at required hearings.
Retains accurate historical human resource records by utilizing company HRIS filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
Complete all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
Demonstrated 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles.
