Job Description

Hospitalist Physician

Practice Inpatient Medicine With Time, Support, and Purpose
Full-Time Eastern Oregon

This Is Hospital Medicine Without the Burnout.

Thoughtful care. Reasonable census. A team that has your back.

In a scenic region of Eastern Oregon, a community-focused hospital is seeking a Full-Time Hospitalist to join a collaborative inpatient team committed to high-quality, patient-centered care — not assembly-line medicine.

This is an environment where hospitalists are respected clinical partners, supported by leadership, and given the space to practice medicine with intention.

The Practice

You’ll join a stable, well-supported hospitalist program caring for a diverse adult inpatient population.

What sets this role apart:

  • Manageable patient census that allows for quality decision-making

  • Strong RN, case management, and ancillary support

  • Collaborative relationships with ED, specialists, and primary care

  • Clear escalation pathways and transfer protocols

Your focus stays where it belongs: excellent inpatient care, not constant throughput pressure.

Schedule & Lifestyle

  • Block scheduling (designed collaboratively)

  • Predictable rotations that support work-life balance

  • No unrealistic admission expectations

  • Time off that actually feels like time off

This is a role designed for career longevity, not just coverage.

Culture & Support

This hospital values:

  • Team-based decision-making

  • Open communication and mutual respect

  • Physician input in clinical and operational processes

  • A culture that recognizes the intensity of hospital medicine and actively works to support providers

Here, hospitalists are trusted clinicians — not just shift-fillers.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with quality-focused incentives

  • Sign-on bonus

  • Relocation assistance

  • Student loan support (if applicable)

  • Comprehensive benefits package

  • CME allowance and paid CME time

  • Malpractice coverage with tail

Compensation is structured to reward quality and consistency, not just volume.

The Community

Eastern Oregon offers:

  • Open landscapes, mountains, and rivers

  • Short commutes and minimal congestion

  • A strong sense of community

  • Endless outdoor recreation and space to breathe

This is a place where you can practice excellent medicine and enjoy your life outside the hospital.

Who Thrives Here

This opportunity is well suited for:

  • Internal Medicine or Family Medicine–trained physicians

  • Hospitalists seeking stability and a supportive environment

  • Physicians who value collaboration and patient-centered care

  • New graduates or experienced hospitalists

Final Thought

If you’re searching for a hospitalist role where care is intentional, support is real, and burnout is actively addressed, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

This is hospital medicine — practiced thoughtfully, in a place that values you.
