Hospitalist Program Director

Salary: $416,000–$520,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the hospitalist team to ensure high quality care and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols and best practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with hospital administration and medical leadership to establish and achieve program goals.
  • Engage directly in patient care in a hospitalist capacity, modeling best practices in clinical procedures.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure patient safety in all aspects of the hospitalist program.
  • Uphold and enforce compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree with board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a hospitalist setting.
  • Proven ability to manage clinical teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for interacting with staff, patients, and administration.
  • Commitment to staying informed on current medical procedures and practices in hospital medicine.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Program Director or in a similar leadership role within a hospitalist program.
  • Experience in clinical protocol development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Expertise in patient care management and team leadership.
