Hospital Quality Manager

Located in the Indian Valley a short distance from Las Vegas, Bakersfield, Los Angeles and 3 National Parks!

Our client is a financially successful, community hospital and dynamic regional healthcare provider that is quickly evolving to meet the needs of its service area.

They are looking for a Quality Manager to help take the department to a new level of service.

Manages and coordinates the organization-wide efforts to ensure the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program is meeting the needs of the community served. Manages and coordinates new initiatives as well as sustaining ongoing initiatives, including performance improvement projects, mandatory and voluntary data reporting. Analysis of data to ensure validity and usability for continuous process improvement. Able to utilize tools to improve outcomes. This includes evidence based research, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), lean model, ISO9001, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Collaborates with Regulatory and Risk Management. Provides education, mentoring and support to hospital staff on quality and performance improvement. Supervises Quality Staff Serves as designated Patient Safety Officer having primary oversight of the facility-wide patient safety program. This leadership role will direct others within the facility towards process improvements that will support the reduction of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Provides leadership for safety assessments, coordinates the activities of the medication/patient safety committee, educates staff on the system-based causes for medical error, consults with management and staff, and communicates literature-based ideas regarding effective strategies to others within the organization.

 

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Valid California Nursing License.
  • 1-2 years previous quality experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Professional Certification preferred (CPHQ), BLS certification required.
  • Current clinical knowledge base necessary.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding patient safety.
  • Experience with the organization's identified Quality Management tools/models.
  • Demonstrates strong interaction/communication skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities (task completion, self-motivation)
