The HVAC Project Manager job is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of HVAC projects while ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to client satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Project Planning:
    • Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, for HVAC installation, retrofit, and repair projects.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to create accurate designs and specifications.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Coordinate and manage project teams, including technicians, subcontractors, and vendors.
    • Ensure team members are clear on objectives, responsibilities, and deadlines.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining open communication to address questions, concerns, and updates.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality work that meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Budget and Cost Management:
    • Monitor project expenses and ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
    • Approve purchase orders, track costs, and manage change orders as needed.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Oversee all phases of the project to ensure adherence to company standards, industry codes, and safety regulations.
    • Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and progress.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate delays, cost overruns, or technical challenges.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, contracts, and status reports.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress and financial performance.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Evaluate project outcomes and incorporate lessons learned to improve future performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing HVAC projects, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, building codes, and energy-efficient practices.
    • Familiarity with project management tools and software, such as MS Project, Procore, or similar platforms.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interface effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other project management tools.
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
    • PMP certification is a plus but not required.
