Job Description

Our client, a 400+ bed hospital located about an hour from Spartanburg, SC, and 45 minutes from Greenville, has a need for a Histology Tech/Technologist to join their team. This is a day shift position, 7a-3:30p, every 5th weekend on call.

Prepares laboratory specimens for microscopic evaluations by the pathologist through the use of microtomy, histochemistry and special staining and other appropriate techniques.

Minimum Education:

Associate’s Degree in Histology

Minimum Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years as a Histology Tech preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications:

HT or HTL (ASCP) or registry eligible

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal communication in person and on telephone
  • Excellent written communication
  • Read, write, understand and communicate clearly in English
  • Use a computer for clinical data entry/retrieval
  • Organize and prioritize work, act independently
  • Work collaboratively with others in a complex healthcare setting
  • Partners with physicians
