Histology Technologist / Histology Technician
Job Description
Our client, a 400+ bed hospital located about an hour from Spartanburg, SC, and 45 minutes from Greenville, has a need for a Histology Tech/Technologist to join their team. This is a day shift position, 7a-3:30p, every 5th weekend on call.
Prepares laboratory specimens for microscopic evaluations by the pathologist through the use of microtomy, histochemistry and special staining and other appropriate techniques.
Minimum Education:
Associate’s Degree in Histology
Minimum Work Experience:
- 1-3 years as a Histology Tech preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications:
HT or HTL (ASCP) or registry eligible
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal communication in person and on telephone
- Excellent written communication
- Read, write, understand and communicate clearly in English
- Use a computer for clinical data entry/retrieval
- Organize and prioritize work, act independently
- Work collaboratively with others in a complex healthcare setting
- Partners with physicians
