Job Description
Bull City's Direct client is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial applicant for a full-time High-Throughput Scientist. This position is well suited for those that have a strong desire to directly design and extend our clients high-throughput screening and assay development capabilities and provides an excellent opportunity for growth into a leadership role as the company expands.
The primary responsibility for the position is the design, development, and validation of high-throughput screening assays. An ideal candidate will have extensive coding experience with a strong background in microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, or a similar field.
High-Throughput Scientist responsibilities:
- Drive the design, socialization, development, and validation of high-throughput screening assays using FACS, Microscopy, liquid handlers, and other similar tools at the bench
- Leverage coding experience to analyze large datasets and optimize automated workflows to improve quality and quantity of data
- Design code to provide standardize readouts for high-throughput screens that enables democratized data analytics
- Develop and maintain systems and data repositories that meet the needs of high-throughput data acquisition and analysis generated from our automation platform
- Work with automation engineers to transfer manually performed assays to standardized automated methods on liquid handling robots
- Identification of new equipment, processes or other optimized workflows to support expansion of platform capabilities

- Ph.D. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
- Familiarization with programming languages R, Python, C/C++
- Experience utilizing and troubleshooting laboratory automation instrumentation (advanced liquid handlers/dispensers and plate readers), including protocol development and optimization.
- Working knowledge of the Hamilton platform including INSTINCT V and Venus software packages a bonus
- Microbiology background with experience growing aerobic and anaerobic bacteria
- Fluorescent Activated Cell Sorting experience
