Heavy Machinery Mechanic

Summit Employment is seeking an experienced Heavy Machinery Mechanic to join our service team. This is a full-time position focused on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of agricultural and light construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complete diagnostics and repairs on Kubota and New Holland tractors, compact track loaders, skid steers, excavators, hay tools, telehandlers, and related equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, drivetrain, and powertrain systems
• Conduct engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and component rebuilds on diesel engines
• Perform seasonal maintenance, hydraulic system flushes, and pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new machines
• Weld, fabricate, and repair frames, buckets, booms, and attachments
• Accurately document repairs, parts used, and time using our service software
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment

Requirements:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a heavy equipment, agricultural, or construction equipment mechanic
• Proven experience working on Kubota, New Holland, Case IH, John Deere, or similar brands strongly preferred
• Strong diesel engine, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills (including CAN-bus and electronic controls)
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Proficient with diagnostic software, scanners, and shop machinery
• Welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, and cutting torch)
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record (CDL a plus)
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs repeatedly and work in shop or field conditions
• Self-motivated with a focus on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
• Provides own tools
