Heavy Highway Estimator

Our client, a long-established leader in transportation infrastructure, is seeking an Estimator specializing in Heavy Civil, Roads & Bridges for one of their following offices: Hilbert, Black River Falls, or Waukesha.

Intro/Summary

Job Duties

• Calculate comprehensive statistical data including quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per person-hour, and equipment analysis
• Research and compile historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity reports to establish estimation guidelines
• Develop and maintain project update documentation and bid package estimates
• Monitor conceptual estimates against actual cost data
• Maintain detailed documentation for estimation verification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience (or 8+ years of experience in lieu of degree)
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and material designations (i.e., W section and HP section)
• Demonstrated understanding of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Excel
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems
