We are currently seeking a motivated veteran to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Operator in FL. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery, such as dozers and loaders, to move materials and support our production operations. Position: Heavy Equipment Operator
Salary Range: $36,000 - $46,000
- Operate heavy equipment, including dozers and loaders, to move materials effectively and safely.
- Safely drive and maneuver vehicles into position for loading and dumping materials.
- Assist in stockpiling materials at the plant and Raw Material Storage (RMS) building, as well as hauling other materials as required.
- Inspect the mechanisms of vehicles, monitor fluid levels, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist mechanics with minor service and repair tasks on equipment as needed.
- Operate and load equipment proficiently, safely, and responsibly to facilitate the movement of raw materials around the plant for production, adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency in operating equipment.
- Perform greasing, oiling, and minor repairs on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections, visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
- Remove build-up from under or around quarry crushers, beltlines, and reclaimers to maintain efficiency.
- Organize and plan daily maintenance activities and prepare for scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow established traffic patterns, avoiding road hazards and other potentially dangerous conditions.
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions, and communicate machine operation variations to supervisors or maintenance workers to diagnose problems and facilitate repairs.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment to promote cleanliness and longevity.
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment, and install new or repaired parts as necessary.
- Fulfill any other duties assigned by supervisors to support operations effectively.

- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, and similar information.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment such as load and/or haul trucks, or related experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate large vehicles.
- Willingness to work overtime, odd and unscheduled hours as required, and share on-call duties.
- Ability to perform tasks that include walking, driving, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, including raw materials, mining methods, production, shipping, and packaging, is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment used, machines, and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with engineering and technology applied to cement production, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment.
- Understanding of proper waste material allocation and environmental considerations.
- Competitive salary within the range of $36,000 - $46,000 per year.
